Senior Living Florida COVID-19 Update
Just over a year since locking down the state’s nursing homes and assisted living facilities to protect residents from COVID-19, Florida officials have rescinded the emergency rules — a move met with relief and celebration.

For those with a loved one in an assisted-living facility, AHCA’s new guidance states you can take them out for a visit with no time restrictions. While at the facility, you can have physical contact such as a hug, and in most cases, in-room visits should be accommodated. Also, while visiting hours may be set, facilities shouldn’t limit how long you stay or how many times you stop by.
It is important to know that each individual community is able to outline its own guidelines as long as they are following the rules. They are able to be more strict, just not less.
