Did you know, on Dec. 21st, 2020, Jupiter and Saturn will align in the Winter sky to become what is known as the “Christmas Star” or the “Star of Bethlehem”? This “star” will be the brightest it has been in nearly 800 years. Jupiter and Saturn meet every 20 years but on the 21st, they will be 0.1 apart-1/5 of a full moon in diameter, topping this year off with a spiritual Christmas.
Since the beginning, the name “North Star” was established by our founder to be a guiding light for seniors and families similar to what is happening when both planets align, creating a rare Christmas Star.
Even with all that has happened this year, we are humbled to have served and continue to serve so many of our seniors and their families during what is typically an emotional, overwhelming, and stressful period in their lives. We have been a guiding light as they transition into assisted living and or memory care communities in Orlando, FL. Their new home in a senior living community allows them to continue to thrive safely while receiving the care they need to age in place.
As a senior advisor, we not only recommend senior living communities from our extensive network of communities, but we also work as your advocate and help you from beginning to end. We do not just share a list of places with you and walk away. We do our due diligence in locating assisted living communities based on several factors and attend tours with you to ensure all your questions are answered. We also work with your primary care physician to ensure required paperwork is completed and help plan for a smooth transition once the community is chosen.
We know this is not an easy process and it can be such an emotional decision to make. Our number one goal is to help guide you and offer as many resources available, so you know you are not alone.
We are also pleased to have introduced North Star Cares this year which will further allow us to help and guide even more families and seniors in our communities through geriatric care management service.
Care Managers, or Geriatric Care Managers, also known as Elder Care or Aging Care Managers, represent a growing trend to help family caregivers provide care for loved ones living close by or living far away. Often times, we see seniors living alone with some or very limited support. Their family may be far away, a spouse may have passed, and friends may not be local or in well enough to take over. Unfortunately, if a senior has been living alone and isolated for too long, their mental and even physical state can begin to decline rapidly.
Having one individual be the point of contact for all health-related services is a real lifesaver for many families. It eliminates most of that confusion when trying to keep up with several companies. Family members have peace of mind that one individual is ensuring their senior loved one is being taken care of, whether it is through home health services, home safety evaluations, accurate medication management, companionship or even helping with a transition to assisted living.
