The Jewish Pavilion seeks to enrich the lives of those living in Senior Living!

When caring for our loved one, it’s important to accommodate their needs in every way possible, which is what makes organizations such as The Jewish Pavilion so remarkable. Today marks the beginning of the Jewish holiday Passover and North Star Senior Advisors would like to shine a spotlight on this charitable organization. The Jewish Pavilion seeks to not only provide Jewish elders residing in over 70 senior living communities in Central Florida the chance to maintain a strong connection with their faith, but to senior residents of all religious practices by providing social engagement and helpful programs to independent, assisted-living, and memory-care facilities.

Seniors may occasionally feel isolated in their communities, often if they are lacking social engagement so it helps to have events that foster social connection as well as a feeling of belonging to the community. This is why The Jewish Pavilion and similar establishments become so valuable to senior living communities in Orlando and for their members. Their mission is not only to be the Jewish connection for seniors but to also put a smile on their faces as they live out the remainder of their lives.

At its core, the Jewish Pavilion seeks to enrich the lives of those who are living in elder communities and their guests in celebrating Jewish holidays and traditions. One of the goals of The Jewish Pavilion is to assist senior living communities in providing their Jewish guests with the necessary materials to help honor Jewish holidays, such as Passover. North Star Senior Advisors would like to take the opportunity to offer information concerning the upcoming Jewish holiday.

The religious service that celebrates Passover, a Jewish holiday that commemorates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt is called a Seder which in addition to providing the history of this holiday includes the aptly named Seder plate. The Seder plate is stocked with items that help to tell the story of Passover, such as a shank-bone to symbolize the sacrificial lamb. As part of Passover, many Jewish people abstain from eating bread, instead partaking of matzah, unleavened bread that is flat like a cracker.  One great purpose The Jewish Pavilion does is help assisted living communities procure such goods and maintain awareness of the importance to properly celebrate Passover. The Jewish Pavilion is run largely using donations, and any amount that you can spare is appreciated. Offerings such as their Passover service cost them a moderate amount of money, but no donation is required to participate. They aim to enrich the lives of seniors which is ultimately the goal of the assisted living communities as a whole. If you’d like to donate or find out more about our friends at The Jewish Pavilion, their site can be found here: http://www.jewishpavilion.org/
