North Star Senior Advisors presents a fun twist on blogging: Betty White Takes on Senior Living! Our featured community, The Rose Garden talks about what life would be like if Ms. White resided there.

Imagine if the hilariously funny, talented and lovely Betty White took on senior living and moved into The Rose Garden of Orlando.   She would be the perfect addition to our community considering she is in her 90’s, high functioning and will be able to actively age in place.  Betty would mingle with our friendly residents and families and will also build relationships with our associates in the front office, dietary, maintenance, housekeeping and nursing departments.  The Rose Garden team would be able to exceed Betty’s expectations daily as we accommodate to real people and real-life experiences.

Seeing that Betty White is an animal activist she would love the fact that we are pet friendly and have a courtyard where she could walk her dog.  Considering all those dance moves Betty has displayed over the years, our themed dinner and dance events in the Magnolia Ballroom each month would surely be a highlight for Betty.  Our Sports Lounge would certainly bring back memories of Betty’s Super Bowl candy bar adds and while sharing those commercial stories, Betty would be able to enjoy happy hour to include live entertainment with food and beverages.   Our library is full of a variety of reading material where Betty may even find a few books she has written.  The Antebellum Movie Theatre is adjacent to the library and Betty will want to pay a visit to the Theatre to view some of those great movies she has made over the years.  Betty would have the opportunity to feature herself on the monthly activity calendar after speaking to our Activities Director.   We currently have a resident who has a spot on the activity calendar each month where she entertains while telling jokes and funny stories.  Betty would be an ideal candidate to do something similar which will engage other residents and family members.  After a long month of activities, shopping and great dining experiences at the community Betty will be able to relax at the wellness day event.  Once a month Betty and all the other residents will get pampered with foot baths, hand massages, soothing music, wine and all the elements for rest and relaxation.  In addition, Betty would be able to have her pearly white hair styled at our beauty salon while receiving a mani-pedi.

Betty is the ideal candidate for The Rose Garden as we cater to seniors 55 years of age and up.  Although Betty can care for herself, she understands that if at any time she requires assistance, she does not have to move out of the community and can simply request additional services. The Rose Garden has Independent living, Assisted living and there is a Dementia care neighborhood as well.  The Rose Garden is unique as it is a warm and comfortable southern homelike living environment, privately owned by a loving husband & wife.  Here at The Rose Garden, we feel that everyone deserves to find pleasure in each day at any age.
