November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness month! Over five million people are living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s today. That staggering number is expected to grow exponentially each year. While there are several forms of Dementia, the most common ones diagnosed are Alzheimer’s, Vascular, Lewy Bodies, Parkinson’s,and Frontotemporal.

Educating yourself on different types can increase your awareness on what to look out for and allow you to notice things you might have blown off otherwise as normal aging. By observing your loved one’s behaviors and/or symptoms more closely, you can help decide the best course of action and plan for their future in advance.

At North Star Senior Advisors, we work closely with those diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and all types of Dementia. We help families every day, who are going through a difficult time finding assisted living/memory care. Memory care is an assisted living facility that specializes in caring for those with memory impairments. They offer a secure environment for their residents to enjoy without the worry of a loved one wandering off the property. Also, activities are included and performed by an Activities Director to help stimulate their mind whether it’s games, live music or exercising techniques!

If you want to learn more about what memory care can offer your loved one, please call us today at (407) 796-1582
