North Star Senior Advisors had the pleasure of meeting John Rybak and few months ago and his story really touched our hearts. He found out about us through an Assisted Living community that could not accommodate all of his care needs. As his muscle disease progressed, he realized assisted living may be the only option and with over 200 senior living communities in Central Florida, looking on your own can be scary and overwhelming.

With limited mobility and scooter bound, North Star’s team of experienced and dedicated Senior Advisors began locating communities that could accommodate an electric scooter. Not every assisted living allow electric scooters in the facility so having a local expert like North Star who can quickly narrow down options not only saves you time, but lessens the burden of someone driving all over town to find it. Budget is typically a concern as well since Assisted Living in privately paid and not covered through insurance. With this in mind, we were able to include all facilities in his price range within a couple of hours. Fortunately, there was the perfect senior living community in Orlando, FL that checked all of his boxes.

As cliché as this sounds, he really showed us that you can make the most out of any situation. Even though he knew he eventually had to move into an assisted living community due to his muscle disease, that did not stop him from remaining positive and being the best, he can be. He is such us such a cool guy and we are so happy to have found him a home he is thoroughly enjoying! Please take a moment to listen to his story below.
